imgix, a leading U.S.-based platform for real-time image and video transformation, needed to bring its AI-powered optimization services into the Strapi ecosystem. Their goal was to publish an official plugin that seamlessly integrates with any media storage provider supported by Strapi, including AWS S3, Azure, and many others.
The Challenge
As imgix expanded its offering of intelligent media services, it recognized a growing demand in the digital asset management (DAM) market for streamlined, headless integrations. Their goal was to empower developers and content teams with advanced, AI-powered image processing - but without locking them into any specific hosting or storage provider. The challenge was to bring this vision into the Strapi ecosystem through a plugin that would meet the technical expectations of modern developer workflows while maintaining simplicity for editorial users.
To address this, imgix sought a technology partner with a deep understanding of Strapi’s plugin system, proven experience in building for the open-source ecosystem, and a track record of enterprise-grade delivery. Sensinum, a long-standing Strapi contributor and core plugin author, was selected to architect and deliver a production-grade plugin ready for official marketplace publication - all within a tight timeline and under enterprise compliance constraints.
The Solution
Sensinum engineered and delivered a fully featured, TypeScript-based Strapi plugin that integrates the imgix service with Strapi’s media library and core admin workflows.
